White Is a Color Too
A background decides how an image belongs on a page.
The structure thumbnail had a rim of pure white. Against a softer page it looked like a piece of paper pasted on top. The molecule had not changed, but the rectangle had already defined its relationship to the page.
Blending that white into the card called for a change in presentation, not a redrawn molecule. Keep the original image and atomic data, then check the interactive canvas, the static fallback and the small screen separately. A page can change its tone without quietly rewriting a result.
A beautiful figure should not make a bolder claim than its source. Soften the colors without hardening the conclusion: a predicted structure remains a predicted structure.
