Making Progress Legible
Engineering notes from October 15: connecting the problem, the approach, the evidence, and the work that remains.
One piece of work concerns the scope of checks. Small changes could wait for unrelated tests, while independent work blocked other work. The approach in the reviewed record selects checks by the changed scope and runs independent checks separately. The changes are merged, and the recorded independent review and focused regressions cover selection and concurrency boundaries. Actual queue time and overall speedup remain unmeasured; that gap belongs in the record.
Another piece concerns state during a wait. Slow shared-state writes could cause a service that was still working to be treated as expired. The repair records state at a consistent point and keeps liveness signals independent of slower shared writes. The record reports a merged repair and passing regressions for waiting and failure paths. Sustained reliability in operation still needs separate observation.
The third piece sits at the handoff of results. A completed result could be rejected because the two sides interpreted its format differently. The approach follows the actual result format and checks provenance and completeness before acceptance. Existing records report a merged repair, regressions for the generated result structure and incomplete or mismatched counterexamples, and isolated replay. This is engineering evidence. It adds no new prediction and establishes neither model accuracy nor scientific effectiveness.
